Space and tine
Art yourself 2013
We exist in a certain space and at a certain time. It’s true truism. Nothing simpler and more obvious. The two coordinates determine each other and they generate focused or chaotic destinies.
Space has the particular characteristic of being a certain time in progress – we are aware of it in relationship to the objects that we pass by or depend on. Equally, the time of our lived life depends on the interval spent in a certain place.
“Space and time” project was built from the self-examination of the need for change in our destinies, both personally and collectively. As a moment in time, the decisions snapping point is equivalent to a mechanical click that gives the possibility to explore new physical or mental spaces.
Strongly reflective, sometimes even oppressive and intense sensorial, this project emphasizes the relationship between ourselves the others, between presence and absence, that is felt without rage.
Used in previous exhibitions, the red chair has a symbolic value. It has the role to suspend the movement, to hold you in place, of offer a moment for introspection, but also for analysis of those around you. The positive or negative value of the moment is a matter of interpretation, just as its persistence in memory is variable.
